Naturally, our EARL GREY contains the highest quality bergamot oil from Calabria. The story of Earl Grey begins at the start of the 19th century, following an overseas trip from China to England. A shipload of black tea had by chance been stored next to bergamot fruit and had absorbed their aroma. Charles Grey, great tea lover and also British Prime Minister, tasted the supposedly tainted tea and was immediately impressed by the fruity, fresh aroma. Today, this random creation is by far the most popular flavoured tea in all the world.
