Chai was originally used in Ayurvedic health because of its invigorating properties. Today it is a staple of every Indian person’s daily life. Many Indian families have their own way of preparing this drink. For example, the black tea can be prepared with cinnamon, cloves, ginger, pepper, bay leaves or cardamom.
