Queen of pearls. Hand-rolled pearls of fine green tea with a fragrantly fresh jasmine bouquet.
Its elaborate processing makes this green tea one of the highest quality, most expensive teas. The particularly bright amber colour when brewed and the sensual scent of jasmine flowers make it a real temptation.
Green tea pearls are also called Long Zhu – dragon eyes – in Chinese.
Long ago, this tea earned the right to be called an “imperial tribute tea”. Only the best tea farmers in the country, who were able to produce particularly fine teas, were allowed to pay their imperial tribute. At first it was only the extraordinary taste that impressed the emperor, but later he was also enthusiastic about the beautiful tea creations that came about.
Jasmine tea is elaborately produced by hand. The most delicate leaves and buds of the tea plants are picked in spring. Fresh jasmine blossoms are placed between the tea leaves. In this way, the delicate fragrance of the flowers is transferred to the tea. Once the tea has acquired enough floral notes, the flowers are sorted out again. The fragrant leaves are then rolled by hand to create beautiful tea pearls.
